The only real requirements for being a DJ are that you have music and a decent internet connection.
You can start broadcasting when the server status says
OFFLINE or you can ask a current DJ to disconnect so you may resume the stream.

These small icons show on the main page of this website. They are completely optional and are available for the simple reason of increasing your
e-peen
. If you don't set a DJ avatar, a generic one will be displayed. To setup your own custom DJ avatar, simply visit our
/ava/
board and upload a small JPG image. Now look at the new filename
, we'll use
12345678910.jpg as an example. Copy the filename
without the .jpg "
12345678910", then copy that number into the
Stream Genre of your favorite broadcast application.
BROTIP: For best results, use a 200x200 pixel image.
1) Be Active: Listen to what the users are saying. Listeners will tell you if you're buffering, not enjoying the music, or want to hear something else.
Taking requests every now and then will really help you to keep listeners happy. An easy way to do this is to tell listeners if they want a requests played, just upload it on our
/up/
board.
2) Bumps: If you are mixing with VDJ or SAM, you may consider using a
raw soundbyte
in the low point of a song. If you're using DSP or not mixing, then we recommend using a
completed bump
in between songs. Using bumps every now and then helps the station (and you) look more professional while you DJ, and hopefully gets a laugh or two out of the listener if it's a funny bump.
3) Announcements: If you have a microphone, consider setting it up to work with your broadcast application. Making announcements every few songs with what you will, or have played, is a great way to interact with listeners.
